What is the GHS Label Challenge?
- Every chemical produces unique hazards.
- Each hazard type will now require a unique COLOR pictogram.
- The number of pictograms will often vary from label to label.
- The number of pictograms must match the # of hazards. No extra symbols or blanks are allowed.

While OSHA has not mandated any size requirements for GHS compliance labeling many countries have mandated label size requirements, pictogram size requirements and font size requirements.
We strongly encourage all customers to clarify with the country of destination their specific requirements.
As a general rule the following size recommendations will comply with most United States requirements:

Components of a compliant GHS label

Product Identifier
The product identifier is a mandatory component of a compliant GHS label and details the commercial name and chemical name of the product.
Signal Word
The GHS Signal Word is used as an alert to the severity of the hazard.
Hazard Statement
Describes the nature of the exact hazard(s) of a chemical including where appropriate, the degree of hazard.
Precaution & First Aid Statements
A short statement that describes recommended measures that should be taken to minimize or prevent adverse effects result from exposure to a hazardous chemical or improper storage or handling.
An additional First Aid Statment for emergency care from exposure.
Supplier Informatoion
The name, address and telephone number of the manufacturer, importer, or other responsible party.
